We run themed technical forums and targeted events aimed at helping you keep up to date with issues relating to educational technology.
Visits/advice
All organisations are entitled to a visit from the RSC to advise on issues relating to ICT or networks. This might be in the form of a one to one meeting, attendance at a team meeting or a round table meeting with curriculum and learning resource colleagues. Areas in which we can provide advice and guidance include:-
- Support for your Janet connection
- Advice on infrastructure and systems development
- Network development visits - we will visit your college and assist in areas such as:-
- DNS
- Security
- Network Performance
- Authentication
- Advice on information security and ISO270001
- Assistive technology
- Advice regarding service management (ITIL, Becta FITS)
- Emerging technologies. (Federated identity management, IPV6 etc)
- Support for UKERNA services (web hosting, DNS, content filtering)
