Barracuda
What is Barracuda?
Barracuda is an interactive CD, containing resources, links, examples, templates, ideas, information, and tips on using ILT which are relevant to staff working in post-16 educational either in a teaching or support role such as LRC staff.
How is it useful?
Barracuda is flexible enough to be useful at:
- Induction level for new staff to introduce them to the range of resources and applications relating to ILT and e-learning.
- Trainee teacher level - providing easy access to information and ideas relating to ILT and e-learning.
- Organisational level to stimulate interest and encourage more effective use of ILT.
- Managerial level as a reference resource for staff working to support the development of ILT.
What are some of the features of Barracuda?
- Over 19 different subject specific sections containing useful websites and resources that can be used to develop teaching materials.
- Source Mind Maps for ALL 19 Curriculum areas
- Special Educational Needs resources and references.
- Templates for lesson plans and schemes of work
- Pedagogical list of lesson ideas which can be accomplished with ILT
- Policy documents relating to ILT
- Interactive learning materials courses for Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as ready made interactive templates that can be used by staff with little IT experience
- Suggested ILT induction programmes

Whole Organisation ILT Support Package
Included in the Pack
- 200 Barracuda CDs (site licence)
- Barracuda Guidance worksheet for Staff Development Coordinator*.
- Site Visit from a member of the RSC SE team to provide guidance on a suitable Staff Development strategy to sustain the interest generated from the initial provision of the CDs to staff and to train the trainers on the features of the CD.
Cost: £399 P&P if not delivered as part of Site Visit
Group Package

- 30 Barracuda CDs
- Barracuda Guidance worksheet for Course Tutor*. (This guidance pack is written with ILT Induction training and Teacher Trainers in mind)
