DownLoad and Use - Ice Breaking
The Group Photo Slide
A useful little icebreaking exercise is available on the new version of the Barracuda CD. To use it you need to be able to tick the following boxes…
You need to know…
- How to take a picture on a digital camera
- How to transfer a picture to a PowerPoint slide
The slide here, is intended as a template. When you start teaching a new group, ask the students for their permission and take a picture of the group.
Then, insert the picture into the Ice Breaker Slide. Copy and move the existing arrows until there is an arrow pointing to every face from every one of the green discussion boxes around the edge.
In Presentation Mode, now go around the class asking people for their name and perhaps, their email address or some small memory tag (like, if they were an animal, what would they be and why).. and type this information into the appropriate boxes.
AT THE END… you can print this off for your own visual reference for the class, email it everyone in the class (particularly useful for part-time and evening courses), put it up on the Course Notice Board.
Very Simple…Very Useful.
